A rescue ship arrives on a distant plant to save the survivor of a previous expedition. The survivor relates the tale of his 22 years on the planet with apparently two local species, one being human and the other slimy creatures who seem to him a danger to the human inhabitants, and wants the rescue crew to help destroy the creatures.
