This Sherlock Holmes story involves Holmes recounting a past adventure to Doctor Watson that took place before the two met. Holmes is asked to solve the riddle of a missing butler, housemaid, and an ancient cryptic ritual.
Seeking to help a patient in Lime House in the middle of the night, Watson stumbles onto a murder, and after alerting Holmes, together they find another murder victim and discover both victims were involved in the opium trade.
