Phil Harris gets upset at Jack for talking during his performance, and they battle throughout the show.  The cast is supposed to perform their play; In The Spring Tra-La, but everyone leaves Jack to finish the show alone, after he upsets them. Andy Devine calls and invites lonesome Jack to his house. He arrives and meets Andys' parents, and winds up upsetting all of them too.

Mercury Theatre 38-07-11 Dracula


The Mercury Theater on the Air presents Orson Welles as Count Dracula, in his own version of Bram Stokers great novel, Dracula.

A solicitor by the name of Renfield is enslaved by Dracula at the counts' castle in Transylvania. They travel to England on board a ship whereby Dracula slaughters the entire crew and infiltrates polite society, unleashing a reign of terror until confronted by Professor Van Helsing.

Fred Allen - Texaco Star Theater 42-10-18 Orson Welles - Les Miserables


Orson Welles visits the show, but not before his Personal Chief Technician arrives to check the microphone, his Acoustical Diagnostician has to check the acoustics, and his Personal Physician has to check the air quality.  After great fanfare, "Mr. Welles" enters, and confronts Fred about derogatory statements Fred had said about Orson.  Orson then asks Fred to appear with him in his play, Les Miserables, and they run through a rehearsal.
