Cecil B. DeMille introduces the Lux production of the Phantom of the Opera, starring Nelson Eddy, Susanna Foster, and Basil Rathbone as the Phantom. A former violinist, having committed murder after having his concerto stolen, then badly disfigured by acid, flees into the Paris sewers to seek his revenge.
